FISH LANDED-3 :irked:

Today I wanted to show Dennis my favorite part of the D&R canal!!

So we met up at 5 and started walking. The main reason I like this part of the canal is cause I catch my favorite 3 types of fish to catch,LMB,SMB,and CP's. Another reason is also cause I walk to where the river feeds a creek.

On the way down to the river outlet I banged 2 super small CP's and missed a LMB. Once we made it to the river outlet a SMB(13-15") jumped on the spinny right as I was bringing it out of the water and got off :irked:. The outlet wasnt fulled with fish as I thought it would be, so we made it up the hill back to the canal. On the way back to are cars I was able to land a very small smallie(4-5"s).

Not what I would call a good day but I love walking the canal!!!

sounds like this spot would be better in the heat of summer if theres cold water in the creek/river.

Heres that bass I was talking about. He put a nice permanent bend in my cane pole.

So can anyone post there catches here or does it have to be from the CT and NC area only. I do alot of freshwater catching when I'm in Florida, Me and my buddy spend 4 hours and catch numbers like 27~102 between the two of us depending on the lake. But you gotta take into account that he counts Bass regardless of size as long as you land them. We've caught a few other fish other than LMB too, but all the fishing we do is artificial, except once when we used baby bluegills.

Tequila, post all the pictures you want from wherever, we want to see them!

Well ok, alittle intro - I'm a Power Pro user and I fish mainly artificials, my first choice are weedless frogs then crankbait and spinners/buzz baits and finally rubberworms. The majority of all our fishing is done from shore, walking around a lake or along creeks. My buddy has a Coleman Crawdad that seats two with a electric trolling motor, so no we don't fish Okeechobee. Though we have venture out into a few bays and mangrove swamps with it.

My buddy also is a straight up strict artificial fishmen, this guy I sh*t you not buys or has bought every lure offered by BASS PRO in the last 5 years. More about him later.

Coleman Crawdad.

Here's a beast that I laid into one morning out on the lake across the street from my folks place.

And here is a shot of one of "my" favorite places to fish - my buddy doesn't like reptiles of any type, least of all snakes. He bought snake boots for is son and himself, but rarely ever wears them - though they cost like $200 each. As for me I wear saddles in the boat and sneakers everywhere else, I only fear Fire Ants!

The above shot was taken with my cellphone otherwise I would be able to take a wider shot and you could that there was like 50 gators out there that day. Which made using a weedless frog all the more fun and interesting. Lower Myakka.

Here's a shot of another sweet catch in the Crawdad - Redfish! To my right you can see a bit of my freshwater rod, this rod was snapped like a twig by a large Jack. So I had to resort to my standby Uglystix! :irked:

Here's a catch of sorts, caught this Pleco while throwing a castnet for tilapia, my dad's second favorite freshwater fish. It's a toss up between Bass and Catfish as is favorite.

You always see these especially after it rains. Like three minutes prior to snapping this guy, another one ran across my foot and second rod laying in the grass. My buddy was there otherwise, he'd of died. Again at Myakka State Park.

Here's a small softshell that got snagged by my friend that I scooped up in the net and removed to hook and popped a shot before returning it back to the water. I've seen these softies to huge sizes.

TIME FISHED-4

Tonight was the last Friday night fishing tournament!

6 people at 35 a head so the pot was $210. I banged the first short right off the back, I only went on to catch two more with no keepers. Only two big fish were caught and the winning fish was 3.6.

Lesson learned "Stick to what you know"

I say that cause when I first started fishing these night tournaments everybody would fish the deep water all night with the worm and even though I would catch more fish in the shallows I would not find the bigger fish. So ever since then I switched up my style of fishing but I quess cause the water temps are dropping at night the fish have been moving back in the shallows cause I have lost the last tournament to my favorite bait(BUZZY). Just something I though I would share!

Another "L" but its great experience!!!

Fishing for money and fishing for fun are two differant things.

Glad you learned something. You'll do better next year. Congrats on the season so far and sorry I haven't been posting but I've been fishing some remote places and haven't been bringing the camera with me.

FISH LANDED-I-13/Dennis-1

Got up kinda early and begun fishing at 8:30. "Etra Lake" was todays lake of choice. My first fish came on the buzzy after about 15 minutes into fishing. It was a nice 1.15. By the time Dennis made it out there at 10:00, I was already at 5 on the day. Once he came I landed 6 more and he was able to get one before we decided to pack it up and go around the corner to "Peddie Lake"

We were back on the water at 4 and quit at 6:15. The bait was slow. I lucked up and caught one on the 'dinger' after about two hours in. On the way in I banged another small one.

No monster(3.5lbs+) today but still a decent day!!
