Great stuff!!

Yeah the top water bite is the BEST with any type of fishing!! Thats why Im so addicted to the buzzy.

BTW- that spinner you mentioned was a in-line spinner bait. They will catch bass and pan fish but for the most part the bass will be small but Im not saying I never seen people catch a big bass on them. All im trying to say basically, is that get a 1/4oz ALL WHITE boo-ya amd when the fish are in umbush mode it will be just as fun as the top water bite.

Great work,keep it up!!

Where do you live at?
Thanks i live in Marion indiana at the moment i will go back to brazil hopefully in may.

I've thrown everything I have in my tackle kit at them. Cranks (shallow and deep), buzzy's, spinners. It has been a trying time to get them to bite. But I ain't givin up

No sir.....I will not be like Sammy Sosa and bleach my skin:nilly:

When all else fails, have you ever tried WHACKY? :naughty:...... try hooking a worm in the middle of the body with the hook point just coming through the worm and toss it out there and let in sink on it's own. Then give a little tap or two and reel it in a bit and then repeat, just watch that line - the line tightens up even for a moment, on the next movement set the hook.

Well, I have the report from Canarsie. No opportunities to use the new fish grippers. Wind was cold, current was ripping, and there were no fish. Although I did witness a guy break his very expensive boat rod. he apparently mistimed a cast, and spiked his rod down on the pier, snapping it in half and sending the top half catapulting into the water.

People that fish in wind like there is today are not die hard fishermen there just stone Crazy! I should know, I've been on the beach in wind like tonight and thrown 6~8 ounces a lead off a 10~11Ft surf rod and had it come straight back at me.

LOL wow that sucks. I didnt feel like holding my rod today (warming hands in pockets lol) but i couldnt just lean my rod up against the rail so i had to hold it between my legs so it wouldn't blow away.

Gigidy.

Despite it being cold and windy, it turned out to be a decent day. we started fishing around 9am off the pier. the yellow perch had been active but no action today, only thing i caught on the inside was a tiny tiny Largemouth. I turned most of my attention to my catfish rod. I caught 2 small ones on shrimp when a fellow fisherman was nice enough to give me a bluegill hed caught as bait. not long after casting i had a hit, and it was the below rockfish knocking at my line. This fattie was only 17.5" but my biggest of the year, she was returned safely to the water. With the bluegill back in action i was able to land a decent channel catfish around 2.5lbs. I then retired the bluegill in favor of a new bait again from mr. nice fisherman i like to share my bait with everyone. Some dead baby shad, i cut them to get em stinkin' and sent em out. 3 times i got a hit on them but missed the bite after the fish had taken the bait and ran. I had one shad left and decided to not be outsmarted this time. i set my drag to way too loose. about 3 minutes later i had a hit and he was running with it. I grabbed my rod and string and set the hook tightened my drag and reeled him in. The water was low from the tide being out so he was hard to net, i tryed to lift the line to get the net under him and it broke. He was easily 10lbs. the biggest channel catfish ive ever seen. So we called it day with minus 1 hook.
