Use one more than you really need.
Doesn't using an extra/a bigger one that needed lower the ability for it to self purge of micro-bubbles that get trapped up at the top?

I got all the acrylic for free. I raided an acrylic shops dumpster. I used two tubes of glue at three bucks each. The plumbing parts were about three dollars, so I have right at ten bucks into it if you include tax.
Damm very nice man , if u ever decide to sell these let me know . my overflow is crap(needed to silicone it together) since it was damaged by its last owner.

That came out great! I'll take one! How much? Haha seriously, though. That is some nice work. You must have crazy patience.

would you build a couple of these and sell them???

No it doesn't purge the air. However, it takes eight times more air to stop it than a normal HOB overflow. If it stops before I figure out what is going on, it will be my own fault. It is also divided into two separate chambers so if one stops, the other will keep going. Each chamber is connected to the gang valve for purging. I put the gang valve on it rather than check valves because I might add an Aqualifter if purging becomes excessive.

I'm not so sure about selling them. The time involved would make them crazy expensive. I'd have to figure out how to get the time shortened.

Flood proof and silent in a overflow, i think you need a patent!

Unless you posted this already, hope not. Already messed up once, twice would suck. How long did it take, you were saying it took a long time. Like 5 hours or days, lol.

I've got about 50-60 hours into this one. A lot of it was R&D and leak testing/repair.

thats a sweet looking overflow
