Now that you mencion food I must absolutley worn you about a very important thing that is very especific of softys. Dont ever ofer a big chunk of meat or big woule fish to your turtle like you could for like a slider or a snapper. In my experience softshell turtles are very prone to over eat if given the chance and if something like a big woule fish( wich for them equals something like a sardine) is ofered they can literaly eat themselfes to death. Ive losed turtles because of this. ONLY offer small items that can be swallowed in one bite and dont over feed. Turtle pellets, earthworms, small shrimp, koi, chiclid and catfish pellets, snails ,crickets, locusts and the ocasinal small chunk of chinken, fish fillet and mealworms, will keep your turtle in top health. Feeders are poor food choices and dont feed goldfish. As for your other fish I think you really should put them apartjartist15;2824771; said:ok also if i were to have a good supply of goldfish, guppies, minnows, would i be able to keep him full enough to stay off my other fish, i have 2 eels in the tank, a dragon goby(who is moving to a brackish water set up as soon as i can get some $$ built up) a gar, 2 angles and some other randos
They are SUPER fun pets, more then most fishjartist15;2825117; said:Yeah, i hope that it will be happy sharing the tan with my fish or i might end up with having to buy 2 new tanks, not saying i wouldn't love 2 new tanks but unfortunately i want to save some $$ for school. i guess only time will tell, and i will just go with minnows then not goldfish. as for now he seems to enjoy borrowing through the sand and poking his head up when i come in the room
thanks for the help so far
