Florida Soft Shell Turtle

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
turns out i don't have a camera right now, i'll put up some cell phone pics but hopefully within the next couple weeks i can get a good one up and running

He is gorgeous and seems very healty:D Just be carefull long term with plastic plants because my softys allways seemed to turn their atencion to them and wouldnt be good for it to swallow a bit, should however be good for now;)

Update, almost a month and no signs of aggression to any of his fishy tankmates, some fish actually fight with him over food, but he just sits there and looks at them then continues to eat his pellets haha

lol yeah i know, its not a permanent situation and i think that pic is of a female, males only get about half the size, so i have a 50% chance of being able to house it haha

Very nice turtle Jartist, :headbang2reminds me one of its kind I owned before... quite nice indeed.

Take care of him good...

We are looking forward to your posting some more picts of him...

But they still can be pretty masive;) I miss the one I had years ago:(

Another update (pics coming tomorrow) So still no signs of aggression (almost true) about 2 weeks ago i thought my redtail shark was sick. 2 days later disappeared. I bought some sort of loach (can't remember the name), disappeared. And last night my girlfriend wanted me to take her small tiger oscar (well 2 inches) because it was attempting to eat her new stock. And it was in a 45 gallon. Well it didn't seem to be handling my water very well. When i got off work at about 3 there was shards of oscar skeleton in my tank. Right now he is with 2 angels some bottom dwellers and a 4 inch oscar. None of them even acknowledge my turtle. Nor he them.

All in all i think my turtle doesn't like new fish on his turf. I am assuming he is the one making all of my fish disappear. Because none of the other fish are big enough to make fish vanish over night!!

Any thoughts guys?
