If that mouse was to fall in the river it would definitely be eaten by some type of fish. I have seen bass eat baby ducks, no difference. (actually ducklings are cuter) I would only worry about getting caught in throat.

Food is food, as was stated when you feed live whatever its just what they would get if they were in the wild. If you feed your fish other fish there really is no differnce. Its not like your going against nature like cow farmers that feed cows feed made from other cows, not that is what this is about but these things happen.

Wow I am amazed at all the responses I have gotten over this picture. Sorry to those I have offended, But it is what it is.. and my fish is hungry!! Guess Ill feed it only pellets and flakes.. Much more nutritional... HAH!

I don't get it. All these people on here keep PREDATORY FISH. What the hell do you think these fish eat in the wild? (I know, it's a hybrid, but part Trimac Im assuming, which is a Predator). Come on now, seriously. If a baby monkey falls into the water in the Amazon, guess what, that little cute monkey is food, same goes for other small mamals, reptiles, birds and other fish and aquatic life.

I'm sure baby mice (not old enough to walk) fall into FLOWERHORN spawning beds all the time! LOL

He just wanted to feed the mouse to that FH to see what it would do. It's part of keeping predatory fish because everyone has at least tried something similar at one point or another.

It's posts like this one I quoted that gets the flames going...

I actually think that the flames have been held to a minimum considering that the mouse and that particular fish would have NEVER come together any other way except for Fish beater putting that mouse into a box of water.

It's not a big deal so don't escalate the problem by trying to compare monkeys in the amazon to pinky mice in a controlled environment. That's when you get arguments started.

I'm sure you knew that but decided to post anyway. ;)

So let´s trow some humans into piranhas tank and feed kids to anacondas... Thats what sometimes happen in Nature!
Dont mistake a random event, with the natural prey of an animal.

Oh... and Im in favor of livefood. Rats are a pretty good source of protein and they "breed like rats". But some people take the term "livefood" to sadistic level...

First, I did not, because unlike the many children on this board, I am not one. I posted what I posted simply because I notice that individuals on a board of mostly predatory fish seem to be against feeding live food to fish that actually prefer LIVE food. I am not trying to perpetuate any cycle here and definitely not trying to instigate any flaming.

As for the baby mice comment, I'm sure you've taken notice to the fact that I acknowledged this fish to be a hybrid, but also stated that the fish is mixed with a predatory fish, therefore, I believe that the instinct to hunt or eat live food still exists within the creature. Does being a hybrid completely alleviate the instincts instilled through generations of natural predation?

For anyone who takes this post the wrong way, don't. I do not mean this to upset anyone here. I would just like it known that whether we are comparing natural occurrances in nature to a fish in a home aquarium, predation is instinctual regardless of how others may feel about the situation.

I personally feel that feeding live food to a predator is good for the fish as it may satisfy certain urges the fish may have to hunt and therefore be good for the fishes mental health.

Anyway, I've said what I have too, so if you have taken this out of context, i'm sorry. Take away what you will from it.

Ummm, yeah, about what I said about taking what is said completely out of context, thank you for completely being contridictary. I really appreciate knowing that normal conversations can exist without completely useless comments from individuals who assume that they are right. I can see both sides of arguments.

Again, im sorry for offending who ever has been offended.

i didnt really read all of the posts but browsing through ive seen alot of

people saying "food is food" .... how come everyone freaked over a

video that was posted last month of an arowana getting eaten by

pirahnas?
