Fluval Evo Saltwater Startup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mines only from august. I wouldn’t consider myself very experienced.
I think your tank is fine for softies and zoas, but every tank is different.
I can’t seem to get shrooms thriving but my torch is doing great from day one.

I did a water change on Friday. Since my first message 5 polyps have opened on the one Zoa. Hope it isn’t that tank hasn’t been established long enough. The only other thing I can think of is flow.

I started with corals at 3 weeks (leather), it can be done. I got zoas early, it died eventually though (never did well, petco).

I am going to the well for knowledge once again. One of my Zoas has root like hairs growing out of its base. It actually looks like one has attached to the rock but 3-4 are free floating. What are these? Sorry can’t get a good picture.

Added picture. Hopefully you can see

My pic was spaghetti worms. They can be white or brown.
What you see may also be a sponge.
The pic is hard to make out, but I see what you are talking about. It’s that thin white line underneath what appears to be a fan worm tube, right?

Hopefully this picture is a little better. That is a Zoa in the picture, no fan worm.

I know it’s a zoa, it just looks like there was a fan worm attached in the first pic.?
Hard to make out. Have you tried taking it off. Could be some type of hair algae or a sponge. Either way, I wouldn’t be concerned. ?

Lol. Sorry. No I have not touched it. That is one of the corals that looks healthy and I didn’t want to disturb it unless needed.
