scat, look at those pictures of the juvi fogo, how does it look diffrent then the picture i posted in my thread? both seem to have full body spangling and look like orinos. only diffrence is that one is dead. what do you see? more specificly the rio batovia last pic on page 2.

Dammit!! I had a great, long ass response all typed out and when I went to post, it said I had timed out and could not post. It was lost. I'm not in the mood to type it all again.

That being said, I found this pic which I feel is more representative of mirianae.

Hi James,

Thanks for contact us.

At São Benedito River you can fishing during every months. The difference between the seasons is related to the kind species of fishes that is more active.

For example, the Tucunare´s (Peacock Bass, including the Tucunaré Fogo or Red Peacock Bass) the best season is during the period begining at may to october.

The Tucunaré Fogo is always red, but the intensity of red can modifies along the seasons. The red colour is very strong at procreation´s epoch.

Yes, we have a schedule and we can organize your trip to there. The cost will vary depend of how many days you will spend at the lodge.

The hotel is located at the border of the Benedito River, near of other amazing river for fishing, the Teles Pires River, where you can catch the biggest cat fishes like redtail catfish (with 120lb max), jaú (with 200lb max) and piraíba (with 300lb max).

The daily rate is around USD 400 PAX (+ service´s tax + exchange of currency´s tax) with all services include : 3 daily meals, drinks, soft drinks, appetizers, duble room with private wc and air-conditioning, boats with a expert local guide and motor with 35HP without limit of fuel and eletric motor, local baits, laundry service, etc ....

We don´t organize your travel from California to Alta Floresta (the city that you must arrive in Brazil). You fly schedule must be:
Los Angeles or San Franciso to São Paulo, then another internal fly to Cuiabá and then another fly to Alta Floresta. For internal brazilian flyes you can consult the TAM Airlines Company (www.tam.com.br). I know that TAM has a daily fly to São Paulo departuring from New York (Kennedy airport). I suggest that you buy your air ticket in United State, is more cheap!

There (Alta Floresta) you have 2 options to arrive at hotel:
By small taxi airplane or by pick up truck that goes through the rain forest. At this moment I cant inform you the prices of those 2 options.

Well, please let me know if my informations is according you need and we are avaible for more informations and any doubtes.

Yours Sincerely,
Otávio Chaves

Lol, even though everyone who usually uses the peacock bass forum wants it stickied, they still say no? IMO, we need more stickies in here, hell, look at all the arowana stickies, there's not very many species of them, yet they practically have one for each lol. The least we can have is one for one species lol.

LOL yeah i tried 2-3 times, never happened. i know a lot of folks even mentioned in that thread it should be stickied. threads like these that compile all these web pics/info are great IMO. reduces the time and hassle of having to search on your own

These are fogos in a tank, I dont know how to id them but the owner said they are fogos.
