if you wanna get technical about.

whatever works, stunting is the answer to all those issue people have with their fellow hobbyist not having tanks big enough to keep the fish they want/love! So, NO More reason to bash others when they have fish they want in tanks other people don't agree with!

got a better solution?

I've read tons of threads here and bashing newbs about their tanks being too small probably doesn't change anything or magically make the tank bigger. Been in the hobby for quite some time now and if someone wants to keep monster fish in a small tank they are gonna do it.

I like to humor the forums about it cause most boards are too serious and too uptight.

So I was reading all of this and I'm still a little confused.... Not to re-ask the question but how do you successfully breed the snails? My lfs gives me the snails that get brought in by the plants for free (sorry I don't know exactly what there called) I'm not trying to feed them only on the snails but I would love to be able to just have them available without having to drive across town to get them. I wouldn't mind setting up a new tank to be able to start this seems how my puffers are worth it! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Most all snails only require water, food source and water changes. They'll take care of the rest on their own.

I've got Ramshorns breeding like wildfire but they are too tiny

I see what aclockwork orange is getting at, you maybe joking about this stuff or being sarcastic or even joking with friends...

But on these forums if a complete newb comes along and reads some of the posts and not others they can end up making costly mistakes or get sick of the hobby due to bad advice...

Since at the end of the day you cant tell a tone of voice just by reading text in a forum making it hard to differenciate...

Now as for snail food, just make sure there is enough calcium in their diet for their shell growth or add something like cuttlefish bone to the water i think it is to help with shell growth...
