how long is not the point.if it will not work then u will know it in a day.u wont need weeks for that right. lets see how it goes for few more months and i will keep you posted.
that is not true. iv had fish do well together for a long time then turn and kill there tank mates. you never know if it will work and have to be ready to remove them
If it was my tank I would just have the silver aro, the silverdollars, and the others except the gars but I'll have to chance it when the aro gets big enough.

it was a joke, I like both the gars and the aro....... I hope it works out becaue it will look cool. Theirs nothing better to wake up to then 2 huge gars and a huge silver. that would look cool...
there is another thread on here just this past week or so about how everything was just fine and then pretty soon, keeping a gator gar in with other fish in a not big enough tank ended badly.
the conversation on that thread did not go well, but it really made me appreciate the knowledge of the ppl who frequent the gar forums. they know their stuff

everyone is saying that keeping gars and aros together is not good for the gar but no one is telling how is it bad for the gar.what will happen? will the gar get eaten up. what is it.someone give a proper answer so that people keeping aros and gars together will make and effort to separate them.you people are just pointing out the mistake. but give a reason for the mistake. let this thread be more informative. just by saying that aros and gars should not be kept together gives me no information at all.

please dont quote me anymore because i havnt joined this forum to argue or to show that i am right or anything. all i joined this forum was to get the maximum info on keeping my fishes healthy and in the best possible environment.i dont want to prove anyone wrong here or anything. people start tokng on other things here rather than focussing on the topic of the thread which i have noticed in a lot of threads. even when you guys came to the conclusion that aros cant be kept with gars you actually expirenced the whole thing as to why aros cnt be kept with gars. thts when the whole compatibility thing came out. it was not automatically sent to earth that aros and gars cant be kept together right.
you people are all very expirenced and surely know alot and you guys gave your view on keeping aros and gars together. now its upto the one who has it to separate them or keep them together till he finds the reason why he shouldnt keep them. right.

neither do i..and noone is even giving an answer..all they are saying is that it is bad. i am sure some one will give an answer soon, coz if they are saying that there is got to be a reason
