I just saw some of the African dolphin fish (mormyrids I guess) on that "Planet Earth" docu. They were in Lake Malawi night-hunting for rift lake cichlids. Very cool predatory fish. They hunted by echolocation from what I could tell, and they may well have been zapping their prey also. I always figured they'd be something like an elephant-nose or baby whale, but their behavior was way different.

Are you sure they weren't talking about Cyrtocara moorii...often known in trade as the Malawi Dolphin or Blue Dolphin?
