The fry grow quickly but once the pair gets ready for a new batch of eggs they get eaten by parents. I really have no interest in more tanks full of jags to raise so I just let them get eaten. I removed the first batch they had and my male went nuts then was refusing food for a long time. They seem to be fine with my current strategy. I'm thinking of adding a few convicts but they may just end up becoming expensive feeders.
 
I had to reduce tank decor because the pair is getting larger and tank started looking cluttered. As you can see in the picture they're still breeding like rabbits. They're not fighting at all, Diego's colors explode right before breeding...these are his "baby guarding" colors. I introduced a baby blue eyed pleco and crayfish who come out of their hiding spots at night to graze algae and eat leftovers.
