I think new filters or tanks produce some bubbles, when i had my new tank it had bubbles EVERYWHERE... but after like a few days all the bubbles went bye bye
I agree 100% and I solved the problem. Sometimes knowing too much is not a good idea. I did alot of research on the Fluval and the microbubble issue was the only "problem" that I anticipated.
So when the unit arrived, I made sure to do all the check marks, tight hoses, lube rings, valves open etc. And I did get microbubbles for about a day, at which point, I removed all the media in the basket and only left the pading on the outside baskets.
Well what I thought were microbubbles, were in fact fine particals of debris in the tank at one point I pulled out all media and even the outer filters. So what happened was the fine debris in the tank just got cirulated and kept floating around, giving the appearance of fine bubbles.
I put back the outer media as well as put in some filter media in the center basket and everything is fine.
So essentially, I was trying to correct a problem with the FX5 that never existed and had I just left it alone, everything would have cleared itself in a day or so afterwards.
I just wanted to post the update in case someone else comes across the same problem or nonproblem.
