Opinion is opinion. I've been running the cf400 and the cf500 for 6 months and they have been great. If you want to pay 3 times the price to get the same job done be my guest.

If I'm gonna waste that kinda money it wouldn't be on an fx5 it would be on my mustang for a new aftermarket part. I draw a line when it comes to this hobby and that's just stupid to spend $250+ on a filter

I have run just about every design of canister out there. There is no filter that I trust as much as an eheim. I have run them side by side with many other brands, and few can compare, although this filter is one of the few. Also, to clear things up, there are canister's that are not made of plastic, which the ADA filter is not, and which is an awesome filter, which I have used. What many people do not realize, is that a canister is not a good mech filter for a reason. That is why they aren't easy to clean. If you want mech, get a HOB. I remember shortly after the FX5 came out, everyone was buzzing about how it was the best filter on the market, and couldn't be touched. It was designed by fluval, and for those of you in the hobby back then, the 03 series, and early 04 series sucked bad. The later 04 series was moderately bad. There is more to a canister than just the pump, housing, electronics, and tubes. The heart of any filter is the media, and few make one as good as eheim.

Not surprising coming from an Eheim fanboy. 
I'll take my sump any day regardless, just can't do a sump for every tank in the house.

I will say that the ADA filter does put even Eheim to shame.LOL what's all the chaos about? Brand X vs Brand Y vs Brand A..... I run 2 FX5, 3 Fluval 406 and these 3 Aquatop I just got for my tanks. I don't see anything wrong with grabbing a great deal. I purchased these Aquatops primarily for their UV Sterilizer. How can you go wrong at $17? Relax peeps, if a member got in on this pricing error they certainly didnt ask for money from other members. Let them buy what they want.
