I don't think anyone should feel bad for not getting #9 right, I've seen some pretty variable coloring on Cubans (green, gold, light and dark, etc) but this one definitely seems almost black meaning Solomon's guess probably holds some merit.

glad to help...this quiz was unique in that no one really has the definitive answers to ALL the fishes, but we know most of them (i'm 100% certain on all of them except 9)...again, it COULD be a tropical, but something about it really says Cuban to me. would be great to see other shots of this tank/setup...see what you can track down!

another thing to note is that tropical and Cuban gars are pretty popular in Asia...this person seems to really like Cubans as they have a ton of them...so from a psychological perspective, it seems they would go after a very rare Cuban like a melanistic...we know not all the fish in the tank are pictured here, but it seems to me that if the person had a tropical gar we would likely see it amidst the mix...instead, this person seems to be a Cuban gar fanatic--

i did revise, though the revistion was made before any influence of other peoples id's or posts(i didn't see you #9 coment until after i posted the change)...my first thought was a dark trop, but the more i looked at it the head kept saying cuban...that and like you said there was so many other cubans in there that it just made sence...also like you said this is all in fun so if we're wrong it isn't a big deal...
