Thanks everyone, I'm sure I will get another 1 in the future but gonna take a break and take down my grow out tank for a while.

Change of plans, my wonderful girlfriend tracked 1 down online and picked it up on her way home from work because I was so gutted about loosing the other 1! It's not a goliath, I think vittatus? But because of the way I got it I think it's even more special :)

it has a few scales missing, probably from being caught but it looks in good health apart from that and it's about 3" so at least twice as big, hopefully this will be the lucky 1 that stays!

Here's some pics

Aww that was sweet of her :) I would defiantly keep up with the salt. are you putting him in the tank the sick one was in?

Hard to see clearly looks like Ich. He may been rubbing himself knocking scales off..

They are only phone pics so not that clear but I'm sure it isn't ich, it just looks like he's knocked a few scales off, my girlfriend said she's sure it wasn't like it in the shop so I'm assuming it happened when they netted it

It is better to be on the safe side to put him in a new tank because the old tank could be contaminated with the last fish disease.

+1 but since you don't have another tank. just keep a eye on him any little thing that seems off with him post it up keep salt in tank
