I recommend H. nicaraguensis. Very peaceful but will hold their own if they need to.

I agree with these guys they are peacefull, can hold there own, would look quite nice in a planted set up and they would live happily in that tank. I have a female and shes quite active loves to nibble on plant roots.

Angels are cichlids (although not really discussed in this forum). Definitely one of the least aggressive cichlids out there, are good looking and you can stock a lof of them.

I still think JDs are good for this size tank as well.

I don't know anything about these but they are good looking fish! Some eartheaters might be a good choice too as I think they are real peaceful.

i say Nics as well. really a good lookin, colorful mid size fish. a pair with some dithers and a pleco would be perfect in a 90gal. in pic of nic pair above, male is above female. nics can be down right agressive at times

wow thankyou for all the responses :)

i would like to keep chocolates with Geos and sevs but obviously they wouldnt be able to live in a 90!!

so would it be ok to keep them in a 90 while they are juvinilles and they as they grow transfer the chocolates and geo's into a 125 as they grow bigger? and then leave the severums in the 90 and add like some firemouths when the geos and chocolates have gone?

Thanks
Matt

A pair of Uaru's would be my choice. In fact, they are my choice, as they're the biggest cichlid I keep beside pikes. Uaru's will munch on your plants though.
