Geo Journey (winemilleri)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I sat down last night and researched fish food and nutrition for about 5 hours. I read reviews, saw many name brands, compared lables, listened to testimonials, watched videos, read scientific articles... Alllll kinds of stuff. An unbelievable amount of information was exchanged. And i have come to the conclusion that a mixture of anything that you can aquire considered premium will aid in a point of nutrition. There is no one thing you can buy that something else won't be better at on one aspect, and worse on another. From baking your own, to live, to frozen, flakes, pellets, freeze dryed... The list is insane. But the best thing to do is choose a few decent brands and mix it up. So that's what i plan on doing.

Another thing i was considering is adding some basic, low tech plants after the wood sinks. And maybe a Flying Fox into the mix. As soon as it gets logged I'll make it purdy.

I am definitely going to order some and add it to the selection. Thanks

Honestly just look up southern delight and look at their ingredients and compare. Especially the veggie krill algae bits. I don't know what could be better than southern delight. I've had amazing results with it. I use the power feed and veggie krill and pre soak the pellets for about 15 minutes and then break them up a little in the tank so the fish can eat them up better. They're a little big for smaller fish but pre soaking works just fine until they're big enough to eat the pellets whole. Veggie krill would be ideal for winemilleri.

11/20 woke up to two of the geos gone. Beaten up, damaged fins. Now that they are 7 total it's more one big group, instead of two. Seeing a lot of aggression, but they all look super healthy. All of them are starting to get a neon green sheen all over with great looking fins and gorgeous eyes.

Also, I've added 5 Harlequin Rasboras to the mix and plan on about 15 or 20 total. They stay in a super tight school and eat like piranha nomatter what falls toward them.

Took a few pinches of java moss in between some of the wood. Once it FINALLY sinks i can hopefully have it on it's way to looking right.

So, i added a couple bunches of java fern to liven it up a bit.

Update on fish:

7 Winemilleri Geos
3 Pearl Gourami
7 Harlequin Rasboras
1 Flying Fox
1 Bristlenose Pleco
1 baby Royal Pleco

Starting to see a hint of red in the back fins on the Winemillers. Pretty exciting.
