I'm revamping my 75g tank and am interested in adding geophagus to it. What I plan on currently keeping are my Gold Severum, my featherfin catfish, and my Senegal Bichirs (1 large and two small adolescents [pictured]). I am rehoming my standard pleco and remaining 2 silver dollars (the rest of the school and my large blood parrot didn't make the long drive to the new house)

Since I'm interested in keeping my Severum as the showcase, I've been looking at the geophagus Pindare and Red Head Tapajos.

I would like some input on how many I could ideally keep with my tank, and if there are pros/cons between the species. My tank runs on a 300g canister filter.

agree with steindachneri also.I just geo.megasema in the store, looks good too.I would try to stay with the geos that max out at 6-7 inches.I would add a secondary filter eventually to your setup for more turnover as the fish get bigger
