Lmfao, for a seacond I was like "what kind of octapus is that"

Not real smart bringing home some poor creature you are not even prepared to offer a proper place to live. Let alone you have no clue what you're doing with cephalopods.

Put it back where you found it, do some research, and have a tank already cycled and stable before you kill such a facinating creature like this.

Idk much but I do know you better have a super secure lid because these guys put Houdini to shame when it comes to amazing escapes. If I every go to the dark side it's gonna be for an Octopus. Good luck! :)

Reading the thread would probably help. Im a fisherman, octopus make great bait, he was bait that has now turned into a "pet project" if he doesnt make it, oh well he will still be used for bait. Afterall, its just a glorified snail.

After seven days Im still doing the daily WC treatment. He has eaten one shrimp (I guess cause its gone) and is more active/less afraid of me.

HEY MY BEST ADVICE IS GO TO TONMO.com THEY R THE BEST IN OCTOPUS CARE

You realize that the "glorified snail" is more intelligent than some humans?

Not possible unless said human is a complete vegetable. Yes they can do things like open jars but I would bet many other critters could if they had eight legs that can pretty much grab and manipulate anything.

I will admit they are pretty darn neat and I do hope I can keep him alive long enough until I can get a tank for him. The tank is mostly for my enjoyment so I can watch him.

In the fall they run the beaches and are a pretty common catch, many people actually purposely fish for them with rod and line to eat. Not me, but I do love catching and eating some fresh squid, it makes the frozen stuff seem like garbage!

Too bad these guys are hard to keep cause man they are cool! The ability to change colors is amazing. He can even change the texture of his skin from smooth to a bumpy "grassy" look! As a defensive posture he will back up into the rocks I have in there with him and bring a few tentacles up and over his body exposing his beak. He also once turned completely white but around his eyes it become jet black. I imagine he did that to make him look bigger as he tucked is arms around him really tight and the two big black spots looked like large eyes, kind of like the face of a bigger fish or something! Seriously some cool *****!

Human arrogance. An octopus is definitely smarter than some of the retards out there. A mimic octopus can make itself look like dozens of different sea creatures. If that doesn't demonstrate vast intelligence to you, then you are a flawed individual.
