Getting tired of this trend on MFK

I've notice alot lately when someone opens a thread asking for advice, they get flamed and bombarded with criticism. It seems most people have this "know it all" mentality and waste lots of time and energy flaming people for not doing things their way. And at the same time the ones being criticized do not receive any help or very little helpful advice. When they ask those same people who criticize them for the right way to do it, they further criticize them or just plain skip out on the thread.

EXAMPLE: " Hey is this a good enough filter for my tank?"
" NO its not"
" Ok, whats a good enough filter then?"

At this point you get criticized more for not knowing or they skip out on the person and the person gets no advice. Makes no sense to me. Makes you wonder why people waste their time and energy doing this in the first place. I guess to relieve their frustrations or to stroke their egos.
 
that's just the forum culture. i see it on many sites, not just here.
 
Agreed. I see it on forums all the time too. Its just tiring that when you make a thread, you argue for a few pages. And then at the end of it all you have this feeling to open another thread cause you did not resolve your issue.

Well if people didnt start threads like this one then........ Just kidding. I agree with you. I have seen it alot lately, in fact I was wonderring if it was just that I see it more since Ive been on more lately or if it has been increasing. Im guilty of some sarcasm or stupid jokes on occassion but I try to be helpful or atleast be polite in my input. I try and ignore the angry folks and hope they go away. I deal with enough anger in my work. I dont want to deal with it here.
 
I kind of like how flamers can stick their feet so far down their mouths that they come out their wazoooo's

I pretty much have fun with it, and the funny thing is that flamers usually burn out and fade away!!!!
 
i really hate when people flame people for no reason ....i am on here to learn and find help and help others with what i have picked up
spreading the possitivity on this site and killing those who are being disrespectfull with kindness and compliments make me happy and hopefully changes others views on how to treat your fellow fish keepers
