Getting tired of this trend on MFK

in all honesty i love this forum! yea people get stuck up but ur behind a screen so ignore them.
this is a great forum compared to the one i used to belong to for reptiles.
death threats and all sorts went on there.

i'm sure some of us have recieved death threats here. lol. people get worked up over the silliest things sometimes. IE, miami dolphin fans attacking me on the football thread

I guess its just human nature. Some people say "No youre stupid!" where others are able to keep it to "I disagree"

I think this has become worse.. I have had a break from the hobby and mfk.. not to sound old but I think this was less of a problem when I joined.. ofc there were still some occational disputes but it has hit a new level now..

It could be the result of the changing demographics of the mfk membership. There used to be more mature members. Now it's overrun by the young ones with hormones on fire

This from one of the most flagrant offenders....lol....That's the silliest whine I've heard on this site over the years...you haven't seen football fans attack in a meaningful way, yet. Trying being a Dolphins fan in a Jets game in New York...getting spit at is their idea of getting you baptised to their cult. It's even tougher on the Dolphins players when Jets fans rain beer bottles and garbage on them in the tunnel.... Can't wait for the Sunday night game....It's payback time.

What gets me is when someone posts facts about their tank/fish , someone else tries to tell them they are lying.

Ex: "I just bought a 75 gallon tank, here's a picture."

"That's not a 75gallon maybe it's a 40 gallon."

I can understand if someone says they have a 36 inch fish yet in the picture it's the same size as a cory but come on.

Funny thing is most of these "bullies" can't stand having someone stand up to them and argue their point. They find that they lack the knowledge to debate the subject. Soon as that happens they start crying about how they are being attacked, suddenly becoming the poor victim.

I think debating brings about some of the most knowledgeable threads on MFK. Go into the gar forum, we can be pretty harsh in there but almost every thread could be a sticky with the amount of information we amass while arguing with each other.

That said, I don't think blatant insulting is ever necessary, especially to new members.

reminds me of a internet gangsta on face book that started talkin all tough.

So I looked up his location and then posted to him pretty much where he lived since he gave out all his personal info on his profile way funny. He even gave his personal pictures and family pictures.

I really think many of these posers need to stop listening to the kinds of music they do and wake up to reality.
