Wow. Have some integrity. You should never break up with someone so that you can be with someone else. Keep your girlfriend and be faithful or break up with her because its not working out - not because you wan tto bone some other gal. I guess I often forget about the age/maturity differences here on MFK until I see someone post something like this. Most of us here are nearly complete strangers to one another - why would you want our advice on personal matters?
Bottom line is be a man and treat your girlfriend with respect and dignity and even if it doesnt work out you will have your reputation and integrity intact. Im guessing youre pretty young, so chances are good that in ten years you may not have anything to do with these girls and your friends. You will however be stuck with the person youve allowed yourself to become.

if the guy is best friends with you both then that's different. I'm talking about a guy who is only her best friend

and male friends could have a lot of affect. in a male/female friendship, one is secretly attracted to the other and have the "what-if" fantasies. or both have thought about it. that's just my opinion and experience. either the guy will have feelings or the girl will have it if not both. and guess who they go to when they get in a fight with their current bf/gf? like i said, opposite sex best friend = trouble

and I dont' want any part of that, when I dated, that was my thing. she either agreed or it was good bye. or we stayed frenz or i dated them and didn't take her serious

I agree for the most part on what you are saying.

If you are married, you are supposed to be each others best friends. Just the way it works out. There is no room for someone of the opposite sex to be your best friend. Its conflict of interest. Having someone of the opposite sex as your friend is a different story, but they will never or should never reach the same level of connection/friendship as your spouse.

that is a pretty brave generalisation..

I have a lot of female friends that I would under no circumstances do..

I think you see marriage the wrong way.. if you are to get married aren't you supposed to see it as an official bond between 2 lovers..

the way you guys set it up to be it just sounds like you are limiting yourselves.. I'm in no way saying this is wrong but if you are willing to promise to your kin, your family and for those who believe in god an eternity together.. shouldn't it be a happier moment than swearing of your friends.. say for example you are bisexual.. are you supposed to have no friends at all?
