glass 78x24x18 Building next week!! heres a replica

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wouldnt it be easier to put the sides on 1st since the side peices go inside the front and back? i dont see how your going to get the side peices on after the front and back are already up cuz ud have to push them thru

You have the base, then glue to sides on and support them so they dont fall, having only 1 joined side. Then you glue to back on, place it on. Then add any basking areas were you want, then add the front.

i think it would be the easiest to put the back peice on 1st then the sides on 2nd then the front peice on last

sorry for the latness of my reply, i was creating..., i would brace like this... its strong as hell and allows you to simply lay in glass pieces for the lid ontop of the horizontal braces...

so i have to do alll the siliconing in one shot put it together then do the inside right away also?

you'll be serprised how fast it goes and how long the silicone stays wet but yah, all in one shot is best, better then waiting then starting up again...

I would prolly go for the 1st one as you want as much strength as possible. The 2nd option is easier, cleaner etc but not you may have to use more silicone.

the more the better, what one or two tubes?, i used 1/2 a tube on my 90...

yah you want to squish them in place not slide and smear, this get out the air bubbles(if any)

Yeah, The images above are a very good example of what to do. But now that I think about it. Perhaps a min of 2 braces spaced 26" apart will suffice.

do the long braces go from 1 side of the tank all the way to touching the other side the whole lenght of the aquarium? the silicone would smere putting it in
