;) Spizz I just posted it because the man asked me to and didn't want to get into the debate. The counter side of that link was pretty on point though and did provide some good information...

But no absolute facts...Not much is known is the truth..All else, is speculation....Some things are obvious.

I will agree, that this thread has more mis information, than any other, in recent memory .....

And ps just like color and colour...skeptic, and sceptic, are acceptable spellings....UK vs US....The poster Kobe spoke of, posted a bbc link out of the UK..So I was speaking to "him"...;)

i put it in quotes cause you did, i thought you meant something by it:confused:

there is no real doubt that there is some cliumate change, but we have no significant impact on it

here are some quotes from the site ourcivilization.com

"The amount of warming from 1881 to 1993 is 0.54° C. Nearly 70 percent of the warming of the entire time period — 0.37° C —occurred in the first half of the record — before the period of the greatest buildup of greenhouse gases."

"Although all of the greenhouse computer models predict that the greatest warming will occur in the Arctic region of the Northern Hemisphere, temperature records indicate that the Arctic has actually cooled by 0.88° C over the past fifty years."

"There is no proof that the current warming is caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from human activity. Ice core records from the past 650,000 years show that temperature increases have preceded—not resulted from—increases in CO2 by hundreds of years, suggesting that the warming of the oceans is an important source of the rise in atmospheric CO2. As the dominant greenhouse gas, water vapour is far, far more important than CO2. Dire predictions of future warming are based almost entirely on computer climate models, yet these models do not accurately understand the role or water vapor—and, in any case, water vapor is not within our control. Plus, computer models cannot account for the observed cooling of much of the past century (1940–75), nor for the observed patterns of warming—what we call the “fingerprints.” For example, the Antarctic is cooling while models predict warming. And where the models call for the middle atmosphere to warm faster than the surface, the observations show the exact opposite."

just My Opinion (and theirs)

I would agree with that. There is not many known facts on either sides of this arguement. Both sides rely heavily on speculation...

i must say that i agree with spizz, a single volcano releases a bajillion times more greenhouse gasses than we do

LOL

come on now, if you didnt know what i meant then your obviously not qualified to say anything regarding global waming
Just playin devil's advocate:)

No they dont. They release a lot, but all combined its less than we throw out in a year...I cant remember the exact figures, I'm trying to find them as we speak. I think they are about 70% of our annual emissions and when was the last time we had an eruption? a big one?...I'll get back to you on that.

"Although all of the greenhouse computer models predict that the greatest warming will occur in the Arctic region of the Northern Hemisphere, temperature records indicate that the Arctic has actually cooled by 0.88° C over the past fifty years."

So why are all the polar bears drowning cause all their ice has melted? Why are the russians rubbing their hands in glee cause the northern passage to the pacific is opening to year round shipping?! I dont live very far from the arctic, another 800miles maybe, we can see the northern lights, and here its got a LOT warmer...we use to have LOADSA snow...last 10yrs there's been hardly any...the ski slopes have got snowmachines now???????

For example, the Antarctic is cooling while models predict warming. And where the models call for the middle atmosphere to warm faster than the surface, the observations show the exact opposite

Didnt they just say the arctic? And as for modelling water vapour...its very very complicated thing to do. Watervapour has both a warming AND cooling effect. On cloudy days its cooler than sunnyones.... Whereas CO2 only warms the world, and incidentally freezes in the circumpolar vortex into crystals that provide the surface for the reaction that destroys ozone to take place giving us the ozone hole...if it didnt freeze their would be no hole, which is why there isnt a northern ozone hole...so we could do with a bit of warming at the antarctic...maybe...
