the fish are not dyed. and dye from fish doesn't color the water [often the color is injected], but that is odd that the water was colored. i know some stupid stores keep their fish in water with some dye, but there is no way that the color that the glo-fish exhibit would be so vibrant from colored water lol.
they're a bit pickier than regular danios, not quite as hardy [my zebras survive everything, but I've lost a few glo-fish]
i pay about 5.99-6.99 for mine, I love them , and the contrast between them and the zebras is awesome.
i wish my green ones would breed =[
