No need for name calling!!
I do believe this is true and not a troll.
mill admit one of my first mistakes was purchasing a betta and a common goldfish and putting both in a 1 gallon fish bowl. Like someone else said we all start somewhere.
my advise to you is try to find someone who can take the goldfish off your hands (with a tank) or bring it back to the store.
If your really serious about wanting to keep fish, ask your parents for a 10g tank with accessories you will need to get it started. Before you purchase the tank walk through your lfs and take note of the fish you like. Go home and research the fish you like to see if they will be suitable in a 10g tank. Come here ask questions.
read about the cycling process in the meantime, make sure a Liquid test kit is on your starters list.
get as knowledgeable as you can about the basics before you get some hands on experience.
