I love it when all the mommy and daddy kids get what they want for their first car, and 3/4 of the time it is something outrageously expensive, and they wreck it within 6 months. Gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside just thinking about it :grinno:

I'd go for a Mercedes. They hardly ever break down. Even those from 20 years ago.

Honda, Toyota, or Ford. These are the top sellers for a reason. Good, reliable, safe vehicles with the most value for the money. After having recently purchased a 2009 Honda Fit Sport for my wife I have to say that when it's time to trade in my car I will look at Hondas first.

I am currently driving a 2007 KIA Sportage. An effcient vehicle, decent value, great warranty (100K), good safety ratings, but the driving and handling doesn't compare to a Honda.

If I had a bigger budget I would look to Mercedes, BMW, Audi, or Volvo.

I say forget a car, get a bike! Better gas mileage, girls love them, insurance is OUTRAGEOUS though, especially for someone your age. I'm 19 and I'm going to be paying 80.00 a month on just liability insurance, full coverage was 313.00 at the lowest from anywhere. I say get a civic for a car, or a small cruiser for a bike.

lol its not my fault my parents have "some" money lol. but that evo IX for 16000 is a great deal. i'll have to tlk to my dad about it. mercedes? lol my friend got one for his first car hahaha.

Honda, nissan, toyota are all good to start with. buy used since its a huge discount from buying new. and lets face it, a new car can be a lemon. at least you know the used one has lasted this long
