you said plants, don't forget the lights. a 4 tube T5HO should work. preferably with individual reflectors but OK without.

Lulz I enlisted before graduation anyways.
Yh I'm definatly leaning towards bichirs and some kind of mid to top dwelling fish. Lots o' driftwood and plants. Maybe I'll be able to get to ADA in SF and spend some cash. Going to have to check what Rapps has in stock.

yeah i would get the 90 tall get it all planted with the lights and all that stuff get some badass driftwood sand filters everything but the fish and do a native tank
 
Haha a native tank would be a bunch of rocks, odd looking algae and crawdads for me. Theoretically, a 90 gal planted would be able to fit maybe more than 1 bichir right? I can't actually think of anything besides bichirs that I want to put in this tank haha. Must go back to my obsessive love of all things dinosaur when I was a kid. Ummmm. How big of a school of congo tetras could I put in a 90? Heres what I got so far:
Driftwood
Lots of plants
Big school of congo tetras
Some cories
2 ornate bichirs (or whatever kind of bichir is availible)

Haha. Allow me to correct myself. I'm done with the 'small' tetras.
Geez a school of 40 tetras. Maybe I can add something else. Columbian Rams? Gobies? Shadowfin cats? Just throwin things out there.
