Haha well, a nice amount of answers to wake up to. Yeah I was thinking about the bichir eating things. The congos at my LFS are like 3 1/2 inches and fat! Maybe not all are like that. Maybe if I got the bichirs as babies and they grew up with the congos..... Ah well. Maybe I'll try. As for tank size, a 150 gal tall?!?! That sounds crazy. Don't know where I'd find that. And thanks for all the 'smaller' bichir species. That'll help me narrow it down. How fast do bichirs grow?
As for hillstream loaches, maybe a powerhead in the semi middle area? Pointed at an angle. Lots of different sizes of driftwood and quite a few big rocks?

I have my hillstream in my 35 and have a powehead pointed right towards his territory(a driftwood pile in the middle of the tank). This is the only picture I have of the tank, but you can see the driftwood and the powerhead in the corner. Let me know if the picture doesn't work, sometimes it won't when I post from my phone.

Bichirs are pretty slow growers, but like with anything it depends on food/water quality/etc.
I think you should get the Delhezi's! I have two and love them, and they grow to be really cool looking fish.

That looks like a sick tank. What else you got in there?

In my planted 15 gal I got rid of my clown plecos because they loved to tear my plants out. The next day there was a sudden algae bloom on my tank walls. I rushed to the store to buy some otos but they didnt have any. Neither did the other store. And for the next 3-4 weeks they've been back ordered. I refuse to keep replanting my tank, so plecos are out of the question. The only other algae eater exceptable for a planted tank seems to be the aformetioned hillstream loach. What should I do?

Normally that much algae so fast means there's too much light in the tank...how many hours a day is your light on?

That tank is just for my livebearers, I have maybe 7 mollies in there right now? But I'm going to get a few more. They like to have lots of babies :) which I'm going to sell.

I leave for work at 6:30 and turn it on when I wake up at 5. Then I turn it off when I go to bed at around 10:30-11. So its on for a long time. I wish it wasn't on for so long. Can't really help it though.

Also a question. I know overflows are necessary for having a non-ruined house and a sump is probably good for the tank (even though I still don't know why), but what does 'drill it' mean (get your mind out of the gutter) and why should I do it? On a 150 gal. Or any tank for that matter.

Yes you can :) Get a timer! That's what I have on my tanks, works great!

This is for an out of the box aqueon light. I'd go and spend a bunch of money on a better lighting system instead of that stuff. I'll just try and find some otos. Less expensive until I go on the shopping spree.

Timers aren't expensive...If I remember right they're like $5-10
