Never tasted it before. It looks gross in the first place. Asian carp is a widespread delicacy/ staple food in China. I've been to china 3 times and Asian carp is always seen in the outdoor markets. Heads chopped off right at the order. I'm sure all my family members have eaten it before.

Dead Asain carp is legally sold in Asain food markets in canada.

I knew it was consumed in asia, and even some parts of america regular fishermen know how to cook up "trash fish" like buffalo. I wanna try this now haha, we just need a big asian population somewhere close to sell all the dead fish too, and for them to teach me how to prep them haha

Good question...florida's been having colder winters past few years. I dont think its a long shot to re-adapt some gators back to a colder climate. I dont run heaters for my gator gar and they get waterchanged with straight cold 40degree water in the winters with no ill effects. Not sure where my 5 originated from but i think its plausible. It could take a long time but def. Worth it in my eyes regardless of the carp.

Wednesday13, there is huge difference between one week vs 4-5 months of colder temperatures.

I would organize one of those "redneck" fishing tourneys. I saw one in a documentary where every year, a guy organizes a tournament to catch the most asain carp. boy, they don't need fishing rods. when the engines start, thousand of the bads boys go flying into the boat.

I would get these fish and sell them for cheap.

A long shot idea though. lol

they probably taste better than common carps, <-- nasty
That is biggest reason why most non-Asian Americans avoid the Asian carps because of the term "carp" in the name. I've heard that smoked Asian carp is good, much better than smoked common carp.

IDK but asain carps are meaty fish. When a live one goes right towards you, i would imagine it being like getting hit by a baseball bat. I would fillet and deep fry them. Never tried it but it seems like a decent idea.

Man, It seems to be a good idea to write a cookbook in cooking these carp.
