Thank you Sean.Blue Acara grow to 8inM6inF. They are in looks sorta cross of JD and GT. Blue spangles all over like JDs and an Orange seam like GTs have. There is an electric blue version as well.
I am sure there are others that could fit the bill, but being back in the hobby just over a year now I am now well versed in fish without common names. Others will chime in with some choices I am sure.
What I don't understand is he is about 5 inches now and has plenty of room. I don't see why another 3 inches would make a big deal. I would think an 8 inch fish would be fine in a 55.
