If youre looking at GT's, youll probably like the different types of Acaras.

or a group of my favorites, Apistos or Dwarf Pikes:headbang2

a 55 gallon is fine for a green terror , the usual size for a male is around 10 inches and feamles generally around 7 even less than that. if you have good filtration and a good kept 55 gallon the green terror will live very happy in that size of a tank, green terrors are great fish to have ,also blue acaras look nothing like a green terror. u will learn after seeing them in person . good luck with your green terror! p.s - tryand find a white saum green terror... they are much nicer cause they have white tips... look at my breeding pair post and u will seee

GT in a 55 is do able, nice job on creating a new account after getting flammed the other day, in the article about your pleco in a 10 gallon and then wigging out about that fact that you didnt take care of your fish... you know what i am talking about.

I dont think a 10-12" male will be happy in a 12" tank i think a 75 is perfect for a single gt or a pair....

i believe when the green terrors and blue acaras are young i believe you cant tell..but i know i can tell a male from a female..green terrors that is but never heard of a white saum.

White Saum's are "Green Terrors" but with white trim on their dorsal and caudal fins instead of the typical orange (Gold Saum).

I just picked up a white saum yesterday, a 4.5" male. I love him already. Even if a green terror did eventually out grow your 55 it would take a long time. They are very slow growers

oh im sure if i got a female it would be just fine right? but males can get rather big rarely pushing 14" usually a foot? but um females would stay small..but less colorful sadly lol but im gonna look on my fish sites and see if they do got a white saum..

This is exactly how I feel. I can't see keeping a 10"+ fish in a 12" tank there just isn't enough room to turn around.

Well heres my female, I wouldn't say she's dull just darker than most males. When I first got her I thought she was a male because she was the biggest, brightest, and the most dominant fish in the tank.....then she laid eggs a few month later lOl
