Alright guys not to hijack the green Texas thread but any expert opinions on mine ? I bought him when he was tiny as a normal Texas and over time he's become more green in colour uploadfromtaptalk1393400531265.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393400543313.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393400556209.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393400575541.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393400588798.jpg

Any chance of a green texas pairing and hybridizing w/ a. Stalsbergi or festae?? Other then my geos and sev which I'm pretty sure can't those are my only cichlids. I'd like to avoid a mating induced bloodbath haha

You know, I wouldn't be the guy to answer this but I'm sure an expert might chime in. I know what you mean as far as a blood bath, i was a little concerned adding the Texas with the mammon who are twice their size.

Duanes- loving the fish, I recieved my shipment from them this morning and man I'm impressed. They had great communication and kindness across the board. They were more than on top with shipping and they bagged these guys so good. I'm impressed. So impressed that I purchased a L007 vampire pleco from them an hour after receiving the Escondidos. I recommend them to anyone.

On that note I have recieved my pack of 6 carpintiS as mentioned. I will be posting many pictures soon. I've been super swamped today and my boy wants to hang out, so it's dad time. Until then, thanks guys!

Just a few more for the night. It'll be a while before I post some more, I'm excited to see how they turn out. Hopefully this thread will continue to grow so we can see everyone's progress.

Looking great! I agree, I hope we get some progression posts of multiple carpintis. It would be a great contrast.

So like I said, I'm very happy with my order with the wet spot. Their communication was wonderful and their packing job of these fish was the best I've ever seen. I watched the UPS woman pull up grab the box and twirl it around like a basketball, this is very annoying considering the box says live fish on the side, but the fish were great! I expected these fish to have minimal pearling because of their small size and at least expected them to be pale due to stress, this wasn't the case. I opened the box and seen 6 very active healthy fish with much more pearling than i even hoped for. Not one of them was in bad shape.

I was a little worried from the hungry look my mammons were giving these guys though!

Everything has been more than i could have hoped. The mammon have no interest in these guys and they are all doing great.

So that was my experience dealing with the wet spot and getting these guys acclimated. I will post an update soon. I have a feeling they are going to grow fast, already eating like champs, even with the mammon who are just completely psychos at feeding time.
*I apologize for the sideways pictures, I'm not sure why this happened.
