i have had my gulper catfish for a while now and its sad to say but, their getting a little boring.. they spend all day hiding in the plants and only come out when i feed them.

their in my 56 gallon (36X18X20'') tiled and alone..

i have an empty 15 gallon tank at the moment.. my plan is to use it to breed mollies and use them to liven up my gulpers.. or at least the tank :nilly:

im open to comments and suggestions..

heres some pics.. everyone likes pics..:D

Nice tank, but know how you feel I got my lungfish when I had 7 tanks set up. now I have just one tank and all I have is the lungfish can't put anything in with it that is not eaten.

don't give up on them though, just the feeding alone should keep you from getting bored

I have one in a 120 with two Oscars. It hides all day long until the lights go out then becomes pretty active. Swims in the current of the spray bar then will patrol from one end of the tank to the other. Some times it will even ram into the O's and take nips at them. When do your lights go out? Maybe set them to turn off earlier and it will become more active when your up.

Try some giant danios too, they might be too quick to get caught by the gulpers.

great idea! thanks!

You could try putting moonlights on the tank to simulate darkness but still let you see.

i only turn my lights on when i feed them.. that's the only time they come out of hiding..
