H. Armatus locations...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't know of anyone who bought those "Armatus" from AHA. But Scott(DIESELMACK) and baracuda both bought from River Wonders and they are 100% Armatus. So you can either spend $50 and have the chance of it not being a Armatus or you can spend $200 on a true Armatus your decision.

Ok guys, like I said I have been doing lots of research on these guys and I know all about RW and who all bought them.

I started this thread to see why no one is bringing this fish in from any of the locations I listed.

their probably isnt a big enough demand for them. alot of people dont even know what they are. they are startin to come around more. i picked up one from RW today. i dont think hes gonna make it.

Those other river systems could be where the RW armatus come from.. But U.S. plays a very small role in overall fish market. It's well known asia/other countrys see the higher end fish before we do. Everything from Armatus to intermedia cichla hit asia first before here.

I'm not sure what you're hoping to accomplish by wondering/figuring out if they're coming from these other river systems. Could be a ton of reasons for not fishing these out in those regions.

vamp, I have been contemplating ordering from RW but Ive heard some horror stories on other forums. Keep us updated on his condition. I just may have to order from them if no one else.

cichlaguapote, did I say I was trying to accomplish anything? I just want to know why, thats it. I also think it is weird that most people on fish keeping forums say they just come from Venezuela.

No but that's the easiest place for people to point out because it's a whole country.. People have a hard time remembering river names/regions..

My point is these fish could all be coming from the places you listed.. really you don't know..

hey JD, the new armatus is still kicken, but he swims funny. its not lookin good

If you really want one bite the bullet and shell out the $. Look back with no regrets cause if you have done your research you KNOW $200 is cheap compared to what most people have paid for them. OR you could wait and hope that someone brings them in cheaper. I spent the $200 and have never been happier. Took me almost 9 months just to find someone that would ship one to Iowa. The fact they don't ship well I'm sure is a big turn off to alot of vendors.

Im on the verge of ordering from RW. I wish I was lucky like vamptrev and get mine priced as a scomb!

Anyhow I talked to a major vendor on another forum and he said the reason why armatus are not coming from the rivers I mentioned is because the technology isnt there to support these fish.

DB, did you get yours from RW? If so what was his condition?

It doesn't matter which river it's from. If you want one, and one is available.... put one and one together, and get it. Otherwise, somebody ELSE will get the fish you want.
