I'de get both on the feeders.....Rosies are real easy for them to swallow since they are so slender.

Growth.....I'm guessing 1.5 almost 2 inches a month.

You should post a pic of the divider.

i have alot more fish so i have to be more careful w my water changes. i guess u wont have to worry about any spikes.

Vamp, ya know the bacteria doesnt live in the water, it lives on things. As long as those things ,filter bio-media or gravel for example, remain wet and not touched by chlorinated water the bacteria is not going anywhere no matter how big of a water change!

He should be here at 9:30 AM! I have to go pick him up at the airport.

I ended up not using a divider and setting up the 29 instead. I used 100% new tap water, but a well establish bio-wheel 350B with just the wheels running (no cartridges in case I need to use to meds).

Ive got some rosies in there and have gut loaded them with ocean nutrition formula two (good stuff BTW).

Im pumped and will post pics as soon as I can!

Watch those water parameters......I might be paranoid but that sounds pretty new pretty fast......This is what I meant by be prepared......should have set the tank up prior to oredering....Oh well It'll probobly be just fine.

Trev seems to have some overly aggressive fish.......Mine doesn't bother any of the fish it's currently housed with. I have mine in with a 5 inch Pink Tailed Chelceus and he's only had a tattered tail once.....keep in mind this is a slender silvery fish which by all accounts "should" have been tormented relentlessly by now. Just goes to show you everyone has different experiences.....asside from the occasional charge or rush towards the redtails mine even schools with them. One of my Rhaphs is a lil smaller than the Armatus and it isn't even bothered despite being VERY silvery. I think it helps to get them very small...my Armatus has been with these other fish since it was barely big enough to not be a meal.

Im not worried about the new tank thing. Ive moved several times in the past year and every time Ive filled the tanks up with 100% new tap, dripped the fish and dumped them in. I havent lost any and that is counting my old rays!

Like I told you in PM the fish is here and acclimating. He is alot bigger then I thought at about 4.5". Im just going to qt him in the 29 a few days to make sure he is eating then move him to the 125 as he is already big enough.

i said the same thing about bringing them up togeother when they are small. dosnt work, the bigger the armatus gets the more aggressive he gets. soon he will start taking shots at his tankmates, realizing he is the dominant fish of the tank. the only fish my armatus wont try to kill now are bottom dwelers.

So DB, would u still rather have a pack of redtails or an armatus?

Yup...redtails.....I enjoy keeping other fish as well.

If I wanted a 1 fish in 1 tank monster I'de go to my kitchen and kick it with my Fahaka. That thing mutilates stuff instead of just inhaling it.

My armatus has a LONG way to go to be the dominant one. As soon as it starts acting cocky I'll just move one of the bigger fish in with him. He's got a long road ahead.....lol

Trev didn't you say yours was mean to other fish from day one? I thought I remember reading about it punkin other fish when it was around 6 inches.
