i take most candians with a grain of salt  ....other than that you can cut and paste all you want and of course alter the thread and twist my words....
You forgot to leave in what the original questions was...nothing I said was wrong (except it 14 watts not 6)
I did not twist anything around.

2 AC 110's is not enough filtration for a 180 with large fish - end of story. If you are not knowledgable on a subject, please refrain from providing advice. Your advice could cause someone to lose their fish.

Take some time and do some research, read other posts and generally educate yourself about the hobby.

Cheers

....Thats funny since many LFS use 2 AC 500 (now called 110). Sh*t I used them for ten years on a 180 that had Butterkuffis, Pikes, red tail cat fish, and a many more.....crystal clear water, no loss of fish on dirty water.....The AC are rated for 110 gallons (166 gallons actually), so two of them will do just fine for a 180 gallon....

Im sure there are better filters out there, please comfort yourself knowing you paid so much more for gods only knows what -

But please never tell me I dont know what Im talking about - unlike you I dont talk unless I know exactly what the outcome is...

trust me at over twenty yrs experiance and a room full of filters mostly fluvals in fact i have better stock then most lfs and i'm hardly naive or easily missled i base my statements on experiances i have with products not what i hear my hands on with fluvals is that they are cheap dont and deserve any more of my money i buy the best possible equipment available so it you thinks thats naive then i guess its your decision to think that way but dont call someone naive and missled when you dont know what there experiances are.

If you believe that Fluval makes a mid-level filter why would the majority of your filters over the course of 20 yrs fishkeeping experience be fluvals? It doesn't make much sense to me. I also don't understand how you seem to be an educated fish keeper but you justify the AC's on what the box says it is rated for. I really don't think you not you personally but anyone can say this amount of filters is good for this certain tank. There are too many variables when it comes to amounts of fish and size of fish. Maybe the aquaclear rates their filter at 110 gallons based on stocking it with ten neon tetras. For example I have a 150 gallon whose sole inhabitant is a Baggarius Yarelli catfish. I woul say that two AC's would sufficiently filter this tank (Even though I have more than that) I could never rely solely on overhang filters. . The tank next to it, a 125 gallon tank which has 4 dorados, 7 Red hooks, and 6 Lemon Barbs all between 4-8 " would be greatly under filtered in my opinion with just two Aqua clear over hang filters. That is why this tank has an emperor 400, an XP2 and a DIY wet dry with ten gallons of bio balls and an eheim 900 gph pump. Just my two cents

You are just so wrong that I don't even know where to start.

If you are going to insult a country you should at least learn how to correctly spell it :screwy: Canadians not Candians...
