HELP!!! 125 long stocking ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a single fish in a 125 wouldn't be that hard to move, but yeah anything that goes in my 360 had better be staying for life cause even with a ladder and a pond net, catching and moving most fish is a huge pain

i've resorted to using traps when i need to remove a fish, luckily the majority of the fish i have removed attacked the net when i place it in the tank....
That's the downside to having a large community tank like me. The tank is huge and the fish all dart away when I need to catch one. I spent 10 minutes catching my breeder pair of Angels and then another 15 acclimating them to the 20g. They were in my community because I had to grow more bacteria in the filter.

Decided to go planted jardini tank, more i research them more i realize I will be able to keep him in this tank for a long time, and all the better if he outgrows it, would prefer to have him in the living room.

Setting up dirt last night, going with dirt out of the yard, cleaned and overflowed for half hour, baked at 450F for 3 hours, then put in bucket, dried up over night

going to pick up coal slag today and ordered plants online, still working out lighting, probably going to do just blue/red grow lights till tank is cycled and plants are growing in, get display lights when i pick up jardini in a few months.

Looking at going pressurized CO2, will wait a few weeks for dirt to major before adding it. See what kind of growth I get. Will post more pics.

I orderd my first plants online and it didn't work out too well. They were all mid to background plants. I'm sure you know more than I did at the time.

always get them online anymore, most of my bad luck has been cichlids shredding them, its an hour plus+ drive to find anything decent in a lfs. get all my plants on ebay. gotten quite a few fish as well. not sure where i'll end up getting jardini, no one in my area seems to ever have them. just silvers and the occational black

well was only able to get one bag, and by the manufactors website says 92lb to a cubic foot, so one bag should give me just shy of 3/4", thinking i'll need 2 more bags to get a 2" cap, accounting for wast when cleaning...

He will outgrow it, its not if. They have a full grown one at my LFS and it's massive. Makes the 120 he's in look like a betta bowl. Don't know their growth rate, but just make sure you're happy with the idea of keeping it in your big tank.

will look awesome if and when he gets big enough to go in my main display.

What would u keep? Single fish 125l 72x18x22 heavily planted?

I would do a single fahaka puffer.....won't outgrow tank and won't destroy plants as long as you keep him fed. Unlike a jardini who would get 20 inches or more fahaka are more likely to get around 10-16 inches.
