I came home today to my jardini, and a couple of his fins looking bloody, his colors being slighly off, and hes not swimming in the usual pattern that he usally does. Ive also noticed hes not been eating as much as he usally does the last few days. I have a gar in the tank with him and there about the same size. Never had any probles with the two. 125. Gal tank with plants and co2 injection

Test your water make sure everything's in check my first guess is either ammonia or pH crash , but without water results its just guess work.
What do you feed him ?

I just did a water change last night so im hoping that helps. I feed him a mixed diet of frozen silversides, krill, and on occassion rosy reds

And did you actually test your water?

What are/were the parameters, before the WC and after?

ya we need actual params, a water change doesn't make everything perfect all the time. If his fins are bloody I wouldn't rule out illness either.

im guessing the red on his gills and fins are actual coloration, but what about that red patch near the middle of his back? is that similar to what you see on his fins as well?

I agree, without water parameters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH in actual numbers we can't help you. If the issue is ammonia or nitrite poising there is one treatment if it's bacterial i.e. septacimia or aeromonas there is another. Also have you quarantined the feeders before adding them to the tank? The more specific information you provide the better we can be with advising a course of action.

if it were my tank the first i would do is another water change like 50% and add melafix and then watch for any other signs or symptoms and go from there . melafix should be ready available at most stores and its safe to use with any other meds you may need to use if anything progresses
also not sure if jardini is ok with salt or not but if they are i would also add some aquarium salt .
not sure how this might effect your plants though might want to check that too .

I would rather see parameters before any more water changes. Melafix will have no effect on any of the possible conditions. If anything some aquarium salt one tablespoon per 10 gallons until we sort this out.

Edit: OP hasn't been back since Wednesday so maybe he went his own route.

i suggested melafix just as a preventative ,it says it works for fungus . i had a fish that died from some sort of fungus and it also got bloody streaks in its fins before the fungus really developed .
a couple times my fish have looked like they maybe getting sick and i did this and nothing really developed .

also had some trouble with nitrates and the fix for this was just to do 50 % water changes for about three days in a row and it was ok after that .

nowadays i just automatically try this approach first untill anything eles happens maybe nothing and the fish will be fine
