Help Me Decide on Filtration

Well, in theory if you ran 2 drains and one stays fully submerged, running "full siphon" you could, but instead of the gate adjusting the level inside an overflow box, it would adjust the tank level itself. Might be cool, but might not be.

Im pretty sure with some planning it could be done, but I haven't done it myself. Might have to give it a try on one of my garage tanks lol Floods out there are no biggie!

I think just going up in pvc diameter is the easiest way, but, now you've got me thinking..........

I think wet dry filters are over rated. my sump runs full and adds another 50G of water to my tank volume with excellent results.

So you just run submerged media and it does fine? What sise tank you have?

Well I decided to toy around with a DIY wet dry. Had half the stuff laying around the house already. Just had to buy the big tote at Home Depot.
54 gallon tote and 18 gallon tote. 3 big drawer stackable storage container. Gonna drill a hole to connect the two tubs. The 54 gallon will be all media and the 18 gallon with be return pump, heater, media reactor and that's about it. Still have enough room on the side for another tote for an eventual ATO.

Great idea, i just did this but i placed the drawers in a 100g tank. Used pot scrubbies for media. 330 of them.

Nice. I've gotta find pot scrubbers at the dollar store. Was planning on using either pond matrix or lava rock submerged the entire bottom of the first sump. Any opinion on that?
