hey first post need help

i have a cycled 14g biocube planted freshwater tank...

2 10000k bulbs
2 oto cats
and a handful of ghost shrimp

after a little reading, i picked up a Ctenopoma acutirostre or "spotted african leaf fish" from petsmart today, and the tag said 10+ gallons minimum... it said they can only reach 5 inches and arent that active, so i figured it would do alright in my 14... what do you guys think?? i read a post on here that actually said they can do alright in a 5 gallon planted bowl..

I think you will need a bigger tank most definitely. I would say at least a 36 gallon for those guys. I am picking one up soon for my 90 gallon.

It will likely eat your shrimp and maybe your ottos... otherwise it'll enjoy the plants =)

They are predator fish, so they will eat any fish that will fit into their mouths (including shrimp). 14 gals will be too small for life. I have 2 adults in a 46 gallon which is large enough. They don't swim around a whole lot... mostly they like to hide in the shadows and stalk their prey... very cool fish. Because of this behaviour, they need a planted tank with tall plants and lots of hiding places.

What makes you an expert you dont even know what is a healthy fish looks like never mind what size of tank this person needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
