crickets, ghost shrimp, and minnows..
if fixing the de is nearly impossible then i just hope it wont get any worse thats all i can do now
Yeah, it does have nice body shape and spoon head. Dnt over feed, more fat will get stored behind the eyes make DE wore. Ping- pong balls dnt work they get tired of looking at it in few days.

i feed the crickets with carrots.. i feed him one or max two times a day with like 3-5crickets per meal..

Stay away from super worms(too much protein) not good in your case.

You can tan as much as 12hours day cycle, but your aro still need it rest too when lights are off.

I was told too much protein cause fatty cell in back of the eyes, too much of this and the eyes will drop, other things can cause DE too like television in the same room with aro, they stare down at the TV for a long period of time and get DE. Jumping and hitting the top of the glass hard enough will cause DE. The main thing that cause DE is over feeding(high protein)

back to tanning, will side tanning worsen the DE? or i should do top tanning instead?

I saw a clip a person was mentioning that the water flow of the tank might be a factor , if the Aro keeps circling in tank in the same direction.

So the particular eye kept looking down and outside the tank, not sure how true is it thou,

at that stage of DE only thing that will work is surgery period.
only with very minor and early stages of minor DE will something
like a orange ping pong ball have the potential to work.

Do not take what I am about to say as a insult since it's not meant to be one. The shape of the Aro isn't a spoon head but a hunch aka "king". There are collectors that would pay higher prices than normal for such fishes. It is considered a birth anomaly. Most importantly is you as the owner like the Aro.

As for drop eye, more and more young Aros suffer from such problem which brings us to the conclusion it's a genetic and cross breeding related rather than "fat deposit" as what is commonly being assumed. Sometimes it does get better given a change of environment. Some consider certain foods as a big contributor to the problem but then again there are those fishes that have been fed such diets that don't develop drop eye. There is no conclusive evidence to pinpoint the cause or causes. It's all part and parcel of Aro keeping.
