Dude, i totally understand what you are talking about. It's a little different when you're hmong because someone who's older than you do think that they can just basically walk all over you. trust me I get the same crap from my uncles, they compared my current status to their great son who is a high school drop out and who is going to work at pizza hut got the rest of his life. My uncle told me I was stupid for going to college for so long because I could have been making money instead of going to school, plus I'll owe money when I get out. Well you see, im not they type of person who sits there and takes it. I put my uncle in his place. I took out the books on his A55. I gave him the whole explanation about going to school and earning a career vs getting a job. I shut him down big time, I even kept pushing him until he admitted he was wrong. We were doing a family thing anyhow, so I embarrassed him until he submitted. I feels good to shut someone like that down.

u can voulenteer in highschool for firefighting? what else can u voulenter for?

yep! i was in high school when i did it.
u can usually start training at 16 but alot of states u can go interior to fight the fire untill 18. can do exterior fighting but no interior.

and most u cant drive untill ur 21. driving is a scary experience. to realise ur driving a 300k machine(tiller trucks run close to 1 mil) and its huge and easy to wreck its scary

lol. yeah im a firefighter. paid for alittle over 1.5 year. Iv tech vollyd since 16(5 years) but i grew up in the volly house, and speciealty rescue fire dept for many more years before that.

its a hard job but so freakin rewarding. I love my job so much though. We see things that would give most people nightmares, and few can do our job(many want it few can do it). Many people dont realise truly how much we work and how difficult our job is. i worked yesterday and was quite busy. I got up at 4am to get ready and get to work and never got into bed untill 2:30am. yep 22.5 hours straight awake, constantly moving the entire time. That was a busy shift but not the worst. iv spent some never sitting down.

I think your step-grams needs to have her meds checked. That's absolutely ridiculous that she would say something like that. I'm sure younger kids in your family look up to you, don't let her get in your head. Firefighters are under appreciated, unless you need one, you usually don't even know they're there. Props to you man, follow your heart.
