HOLY CR*P Walmart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The bad thing is, I do 2 partial W/C's a day on the Goldfish. I didn't have enough media to stop an ammonia spike on almost 100 goldfish.
The problem that I have with the negative people on here, is that they will complain all day and night, and not do a thing to change what they are complaining about. As for the heaters, I have extra tanks for emergencies, and didn't realize I was short on heaters. So I needed them anyway.
I wrote a letter to Walmart, and hope to hear from them. If not, I will send 100's of emails. If anyone else wants to email them, go ahead, you all know how Walmart is with their fish.
And for the killing of hundreds of dogs every week in shelters, it is worse than that. I do what I can. We have 3 cats, 2 were taken in from shelters and 1 was found in a crawl space of a flea infested house at 2 weeks old.
On the brighter side, I came home today and found no dead fish. Someone emailed me about taking some Goldfish for a pond, so the home hunting apparently has begun. All of the fish are eating good now. Some of them only started eating this morning. The Pacu died yesterday. I was planning on calling Camden Aquarium to see if they would take it. That would have been cool.

im speaking from my point of view and from how i think most other people would think. im assuming most people including me would want the healthiest and best looking fish. you dont have to take it like im evil. or you can take it like im a sheep and im saying forget about those poor fish, just think about how you can get the best looking fish and how you can make your tank look the best it can look.

the dog example is perfect. youre a good person doing a good thing to help others. but its not necessary. why not just go and pick out the best fish and go home. why are you shopping in the fish section at walmart in the first place. your intention was probably to save the fish there from the beginning.

different people got different morals. i would give a dollar to a guy on the street if he needed it. i feed a cat outside of my house whenever i feel like it. but i wouldnt go to walmart doing a rescue mission. there are some things you cant fix and you shouldnt fix. maybe some fishs lives arent as important to me as the life of a cat or a dog. what im saying isnt coming from someone evil. its how all of you guys think. you guys are just supporting 53special because he did a good thing with good intentions and it would be messed up to flame him. im not flaming him. i think hes a good person with a good heart. morally good but logically not.

no ones complaining. some of us just think that what you did was logically pointless. what you did solved .000000000000001% of the problem with the way fish are handled. if that counts then keep doin what youre doing.

Dude, if your not going to do anything to change the sutuation, then you have no right to complain. Have you ever done anything to try to make a difference in anything? Sitting on your butt complaing on a chat forum doesn't count. You are either lazy, don't care or are ignorantly bliss.

That is great that you saved those fish's lives. Fish are so mistaken, people think they can live thorugh anything, and when they don't they call the fish stupid.

Dude you have some major issues. You assume way too much. Most other people have hearts and don't need their egos stroked by having the nicest looking fish. And what makes you think that the fish he did buy were not good looking. I saw a lot of nice fish in those pictures.......Anyway, use your own logic, If everyone in this world wanted the nicest looking, smartest or whatever means of judgment, you would have been tossed out a long time ago. So thank god there are some good hearted people in this world ;)

53special, nice pick up Bro !!! :headbang2

i agree if people dont support what 53 did then id say get off the forum. there are plenty of other threads to look at. dont waste your time and ours. and whats Wal-Mart's e-mail i wanna send messages to them complaining about overall fish care. bombard the e-mail storage!!!

If everyone had this attitude, then there wouldn't be any dog rescue or cat rescue or anything. No charity organization.
I have a ton of animals, and I know I cannot save them all, but I can at least do my part. If everyone did their part, yes as the cliche goes the world would be a better place. Even if what 53special did was .00001% thats better than a big fat 0.

Good point :) anything is better than nothing. thats why i get most of my little fish at wal mart to save them lol

Thank you all for you support. I came home to 1 dead feeder and a dead frog. Did I mention that I got a few frogs and a few Ghost Shrimp. The small Oscar was on his side floating this morning, and I thought he was going to die. Apparently that is how he sleeps. When I got home this evening, he was fine.

Ok, I said I understood he was trying to do good. But since my last message got blasted, answer me these questions.
1) As already stated, goldfish are cold water, so no heater needed- where's the problem with leaving them?
2) If the fish had been regular price, would you have still walked out with all of them? (And don't you dare tell me yes!)
3) How is their situation better now than before? You already said you can't keep up with the ammonia spikes.
4) Why aren't all of you people rushing out and buying up all of Walmart's fish to save them? Is it like 53 said, you're lazy, don't care, and are cruel?

And for your info (since you call me lazy), I have done more for saving animals, including fish, than you could possibly imagine. I've taken in 10 times the fish you are having your happy feel good parade about. Don't even start me on the other animals I've taken in. I put them in the best possible situation they can be put in. This situation my friend, is not one of them. And Basslover, don't even make a GENIUS comment to me when your posts in this thread have more mispelled words than I've just typed......

p.s. I was very civil with my very first post, until it got ripped
