dude, could you please shrink your siggy down a little. well, a lot. it is making me have to scroll sideways to see the whole page:irked:

my complaint isnt how youre taking care of the fish. its you saving the fish in the first place. why go through the trouble. let them die there while the next batch of fish await their doom. why do these good deeds. just be like every other human and look at the dying fish and move on to the next healthy one.

Your cold hearted he could just make them better then sell to lfs or something.

what makes me cold hearted? because i think its lame to go through so much trouble to save some fish? he spent 30 dollars and had to buy heaters for those fish and wasted his own time. most people would just skip the ugly, deformed, unhealthy, one-eyed fish and move on to the best looking one. but he decided to buy all of them like a super hero. aquaman. you deserve an honorable mention on a television show like oprah but in the real world these things are pointless.

would i be cold hearted if i thought it was ok to feed feeders to oscars or arowanas or even piranhas? i cant stand these pansies and "kind hearted people". what makes you kind hearted? if you choose to adopt a dying grasshopper and nurse it back to health and release it when its better? just be the average normal person and live your life.

edit: i dont mean that towards you 53special. you got good intentions but youre looking in a crack in the wall instead of out in the open. my post was directed to militis because he thinks im cold hearted. and maybe you too if you think im cold hearted.

Nobody thinks they're "the most ultimate fishkeeper in the world". This is a discussion board, genius. Everything on this site is of perception, opinion, and experience. In my opinion, this is no better than where they were. You don't know any more than I what the real problem was at the store, as you don't know how many would be dead in either's hands. This does pertain to me, as it pertains to you or anyone else that wants to reply. Don't flip your lid and be an ass. Make this a poll, then see how many agree this was a "GOOD DEED".......

Has anyone ever tried to buy one of the dead fish at Wal-Mart? Now that would be hilarious.

I tried to buy dead fish at a store before:

me: I'd like to buy that fish there (fish was pale and floating)

attendant: Uh, sir that fish is dead.

me: Oh...shoot, I thought he looked weird. How about this one (points to another dead fish)

attendant: Uh sir that fish is also dead (he was clearly getting irritated)

me: oh, wow, you guys really don't care for your fish if you have so many dead ones. (walks out)

My friend did something similar, but he bought a fish at Petco. He went home, put the fish in his tank and the fish died. He took the fish back to Petco, with the old Petco water and they tested it telling him his ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates were all high. He said that's funny because it is your water.

I am in this hobby because I like animals, I like looking at fish and enjoy the challenge of keeping them healthy and happy. I think that saving the fish from walfart was great, an act of kindness and compassion for them. If other people view the fish as just "things" not worth saving, they shouldn't hate on others for having a different view.

I believe he had the best intentions by getting all those fish from walmart. I, myself, find it sad to see all those poor fish kept in such a bad condition. Some ppl may agree w me or disagree. Regardless, if he spent 30 dollars or more, its his money and he can do whatever he wants with it, even if you agree or disagree. :)

53special, I hope you can nurse them back to good health, good luck to you and your new fishies.
