If using a bigger round like .45acp or .223 wouldn't you be worried about shooting through walls and hitting loved ones while trying to drop an intruder or even worse going through your neighbors house. I assume that using a shotgun for home defense would be good cause the buck shot wouldn't easily go through walls and if you were to be awaken in the middle of the night your eye sight would still be adjusting to see. Just my opinion.

well that's why I said using different rounds, like ballistic or the Frangible which shouldn't pass through a wall/s.

You should not be worried if your using the correct ammunition and have the training to know how to handle these situations.

I love mine but I still will go for the AKMS first.... It still is a shotgun and still has that annoying 18 yard limitation when aiming for center mass. Granted almost no encounter will occur beyond this range but I do like to know it is there if (when) needed.

This is one devastating rifle though and certainly is one awesome combat shotgun.

If I had a house big enough that a shotgun with a range of 18 yards wouldnt cut, then I could afford my own security so it wouldnt matter.
