I honestly do want to keep him, but he doesn't fit with my collection anymore. I appreciate the peace and tranquility, grace and beauty that the fancy goldfish bring me, and i could really use the 75 gallons. i dunno. i'm flip flopping here.
Man, lately I've been wanting to set up a fancy goldfish tank myself!! Just need to find a good deal on a used tank.

to move my oscar and CK i went to home depot and bought a 6" x 24" pvc pipe with 2 end caps.put the pipe in and drained the tank down to about 6".capped one end and my fish always went in with low water so i just capped the other end and lifted it out and down into the tote then removed a cap.both came out calm and no probs,no mess.take the pipes/caps back for ya $ when done.

Great tips!

i think you should keep him too they are suck cool fish especially that bigg

but if you decide to move him go to a fish store and get two of the biggest see through bags they have, put it in the tank and let him swim into it himself. thats how i moved my big ARO and he didnt even see the bag haha, he didnt even know what was going on until he felt it.

I would have to agree on keeping him, but I helped a friend move a midas in his house upgrading his tank and it was not easy. We were moving the entire stock which also including a beastly Jack and those two gave us the most trouble. Since we were clearing the entire tank it was easier because we were already draining/removing decorations. Never-the-less we were both SOAKED by the time we got the jack and midas out, in the bucket, down the steps and then back in the new tank.

I hear ya. I don't know why, but his sheer strength scares me.
