Thanks for explaining the fish shocker, seems pretty cool for harvesting fish for tanks.

Cant wait to give it shot...but will stick with rod and rell...and circle hooks.

That fish schocker thing would be good for collecting, sampling, and researching but if you use that just to fish you are a tool. I like how it says you can be more of a man by using it. A real man catches fish on rod and reel. That thing takes the sport out of fishing.

I want to buy one of those fish shockers to see whats in my pond lol I honestly dont even think I know everything thats in there

I contacted KDFWR and its illegal to use for the general population

For the general public, this is an illegal device for fish sampling in the waters of the Commonwealth. (http://162.114.4.13/KRS/150-00/460.PDF)

Statue 150.460 section 2 prohibits the use of any electrical devices in any stream or body of water in Kentucky, except by department employees.

The shockers are illegal to use in most states,if not all.Except by DNR.

It has to be permitted. If you have a private pond you can apply for a permit to conduct sampling on your private pond. You cant use them on public waters unless permitted by the DNR to due so. Permits are only giving to private pond/lake owners, schools for research and DNR officers conducting population surveys.
