how expensive is too expensive 4 fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Given that I am pretty po' about $120 I guess. It would have to be something really cool tho. I rather grow up juveniles as others have also stated. *To the OP* blue on blue makes my retinas burn.

50 bucks

I am pretty crazy though. I would drive 4-5hrs and shop around for weeks to beat a deal on a local fish that was high priced.

i have been able to get a stock list that is probably the rarest in my state as far as I have seen publicly, doing this.

I just bought my first ray for over 100 and I would have never done that if it was not for my wife falling in love with them at a LFS.

probably $50 unless it is something I REALLY WANT like a cowfish, I am not going too much over. I wanted a Shaw's cowfish but it turned out that a little 4 inch cowfish ends up for $500 online and even more probably in a LFS, if I can find one which sells them... never mind :(

up to 1000, thats for a special fish that i may dedicate a tank too. i havent found that fish yet, but i can see that being my limit.
up to 200 dollars for a fish that maybe the star of the tank, if i ever set up a salt tank again i would want a mystery wrasse.
casually(relatively speaking as none of my stocking choices are impulse buys) buying a fish for a average tank i own up to hundred dollars. so far i havent reached that either although i did get a couple of 80 dollar fish a couple years ago, tangs.

as of now none of the fish i have my eyes on would run me more then 60 dollars. just remember theres alot worse stuff you could spend your money on. i really regret my 1500 dollar tv, it was a great deal at the time but sometimes i think its to big(50 inch panasonic, 1080p).

I dont really have a limit. If I can afford it and really, really want it and it doesn't come out of my beer/bill money....I'll get it.

ive spent a few hundred on a fish before but ive slowed down on that since my $400 arowana got eaten by one of my p-bass a month after i bought it

Somewhere in the $1,000 range or a little more. ST Datnoids are very hard to come by in Hawaii and a nice once can easily cost more than $1000.

The one I already have cost me $900.

I think that the most that I would spend right now is around 100$ But if i ever get my 125Gal then around 300. For a single fish It would have to be a pretty cool fish tho.
